Wisdom Beyond The Norm
Psalms 111:10 (NKJV) - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do his commandments. His praise endures forever.
In this passage of scripture the word "fear" means to respect, reverence, honor and acknowledge. By no means, should we look at "fear" in this scripture as to be scared of God. God loves you and has your best interest at heart. God is not scary, He is loving and kind. Honoring, reverencing, acknowledging and giving respect to God and His word is the beginning of wisdom.
God's wisdom is so far beyond natural human wisdom. Human wisdom is based on what we can detect with our natural senses. God's wisdom in divine, so far beyond what we can pick up with our natural senses. God's wisdom is His words. When we step out and do what God’s word says, we are operating in a wisdom that far surpasses the norm.
Sometimes when we step out in faith on God's words of wisdom, we may not fully understand it. But understanding comes in doing. According to Psalm 111:10 – a good understanding have all those who "do" His commandments. That is to say, in doing God's words of wisdom, you will gain understanding. If you wait until you understand the wisdom from God before you act on the wisdom, you may never apply that wisdom to your life and understanding will never come. Therefore, the wisdom of God will not benefit you at all.
For example, a co-worker lies on you to get the promotion that you should have gotten. In this situation, God’s wisdom commands us to forgive. You may say, “I don’t understand why I need to forgive. I should find a way to get back at this person.” But in faith you act on the wisdom of God which says, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”(Matthew 5:44). As you act on the wisdom of God, you will experience the freedom of a heavy weight being lifted from you and an inner peace, then you will fully understand why God commands for us to forgive.
Make the decision today to operate in a wisdom that beyond the norm. As you are consistent in operating in God's wisdom, you we will begin to live life beyond the norm.
